Commencement Speaker

Teaching the Old Testament in its ancient Near Eastern environment is Dr. Ken Way's passion. Ever since his college days, Ken has sensed God calling him to teach the Bible, and to mentor students who desire more of God in their lives. With research interests including the Pentateuch, the books of Judges and Ruth, Israelite religion/archaeology, Northwest Semitic inscriptions, and the fauna of the ancient Near East, Ken is a widely published author and researcher, an occasional Israel tour guide, and an experienced Bible teacher. He earned a Ph.D. and an M.Phil. from Hebrew Union College, an M.A. from Trinity International University, and a B.A. from the Moody Bible Institute.

Ken is married to Lori, and they have three children, Schuyler (Sky), Brad, and Lila. Ken and Lori are working on a reflective book about their health journey which began in May of 2019 when Ken was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The book is tentatively titled God Speaks in Our Pain: Reading the Bible While Hurting.
